Milton 5th Grader Dies Unexpectedly: She Was 'A Bright Light In Our Community'

Her sudden passing has left an immeasurable void, according to a GoFundMe campaign created for her family. The Milton community has rallied to support them as they navigate this devastating loss.

“In this time of unimaginable grief, we’re coming together to support the Joseph family as they navigate a world forever changed by the sudden passing of their beloved Bella,” organizers said.

A GoFundMe has been launched to help the family with funeral and memorial expenses, time off from work to grieve, household needs, counseling services, and other financial burdens.

“No amount is too small, and every gesture of support matters,” organizers emphasized, adding that the fundraiser is transitioning to an official GoFundMe campaign to centralize donations.

By Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 26, the campaign had raised more than $25,000.

Organizers are asking residents of Milton for one more show of solidarity.

We encourage all of you to stand in solidarity with the family by affixing a pink ribbon to your home, mailbox, or other prominent place. As these ribbons appear throughout Milton, they'll create a visible community embrace-showing the Joseph family that they are surrounded by support wherever they go in our town.

Bella’s cause of death has not been released, but the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said no foul play is suspected.
